DESCRIPTION:MLK Day Free Family Workshop at Robert Russa Moton Museum\, Monday\, January 19 \n  \nLooking for a great way to start the New Year with your community? The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts and the Robert Russa Moton Museum are partnering to bring an MLK Day celebration of service on Monday\, January 19. The event will be held at the Moton Museum from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. No registration is required\, and the workshop is free and open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  \nDuring the celebration\, guests of all ages will have the opportunity to tour the Robert Russa Moton Museum and take part in a variety of art activities led by the LCVA. There will also be a civil rights focused reading area provided by the Virginia Children’s Book Festival.  \n  \nWhen and Where: \nMonday\, January 19\, 2026 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm at the Robert Russa Moton Museum\, located at 900 Griffin Boulevard.  \n  \nAbout the Robert Russa Moton Museum: \nThe Robert Russa Moton Museum is a National Historic Landmark dedicated to sharing the story of Prince Edward County’s role in the fight for civil rights. Located at the site of the 1951 student strike\, the museum promotes civil rights education\, engagement\, and the continued pursuit of social justice. \n  \nAbout LCVA: \nThe Longwood Center for the Visual Arts presents a rotating program of inspiring and conversation-starting exhibitions.
